Good Freebie Today!

March 31, 2009 · 1 Comment

From absurdlycool today, I got a coupon code for a free medium pizza from Domino’s. Just go to dominos.com, place an order for any medium 1-topping pizza, and when you get to check out enter “BAILOUT” in the coupon code spot. Depending on where you live, there may be a minimum amount you have to order in order to get this freebie. Or there may be charges if you want it delivered. For the one closest to me there was no minimum order required. It would be $1.78 if I wanted it delivered, but completely FREE if I pick it up. I’m not sure how long this coupon code will last- so you may want to try it soon! I’m leaving work pretty soon to go pick up my free pizza!

UPDATE: Apparently they were giving away too many free pizzas so this coupon code is no longer useable. The early bird gets the pizza.

I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.

March 24, 2009 · 3 Comments

A couple days ago, Yahoo! Movies posted a list that they came up with of the 100 movies you should see before you die. There are some movies that I would definitely take off the list, and others that deserve a spot. But, here is theirs (in alphabetical order, not in order of importance.) I have made bold the ones that I have seen.

12 Angry Men
2001: A Space Odyssey
The 400 Blows
8 1/2
The African Queen
Alien
All About Eve
Annie Hall
Apocalypse Now
The Battle of Algiers
The Bicycle Thief
Blade Runner
Blazing Saddles
Blow Up
Blue Velvet
Bonnie and Clyde
Breathless
The Bridge of the River Kwai
Bringing Up Baby
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Casablanca
China Town
Citizen Kane
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Die Hard
Do the Right Thing
Double Indemnity – definitely deserves a spot. Excellent film.
Dr. Strangelove
Duck Soup
E.T.
Enter the Dragon

The Graduate
Grand Illusion
Groundhog Day
A Hard Day’s Night
In the Mood for Love
It Happened One Night
It’s A Wonderful Life
Jaws
King Kong (1933)
The Lady Eve
Lawrence of Arabia
The Lord of the Rings – duh.
M
M*A*S*H*
The Maltese Falcon
The Matrix
Modern Times
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
National Lampoon’s Animal House
Network
Nosferatu
On the Waterfront
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Paths of Glory
Princess Mononoke
Psycho
Pulp Fiction
Raging Bull
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Raise the Red Lantern
Rashomon
Rear Window – also great.
Rebel Without a Cause
Rocky

The Searchers
Seven Samurai (1954)
The Shawshank Redemption
The Silence of the Lambs
Singin’ In the Rain
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Some Like It Hot
The Sound of Music
Star Wars
Sunset Blvd.
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
The Third Man
This is Spinal Tap
Titanic
To Kill a Mockingbird
Toy Story
The Usual Suspects

Vertigo
When Harry Met Sally…
Wild Strawberries
Wings of Desire
The Wizard of Oz
Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown
The World of Apu

I can’t believe I’ve only seen 21 of these. That’s pretty sad. And we even own some of the others, but I’ve never watched them. Maybe later I’ll post a list of what I would say are the top 100 movies to watch before you die.

Cape Disappointment

March 16, 2009 · 1 Comment

This past weekend was our 2-day mega rehearsal for AMTC (more info about that on the “Send us to AMTC” page link above.) Saturday was crazy. Some good. But mostly bad. I felt like I was hiking at Cape Disappointment. That night was really hard. But Taylor and I talked about it a lot on the way to the Miley’s and we also got some chick-fil-a. I felt much better after that. We stayed the night at the Miley’s so we wouldn’t have to drive back and forth so far. Check out Jason’s page to see what we did that night. Then Sunday came and went and by the end of the day, I felt more like I was wearing a cape, and flying over to punch Disappointment in the face.

This past week I was discussing with Taylor how excited we were that Jason had started blogging again. This of course made Taylor bring up the fact that I haven’t been blogging either. So….now I have to keep up.  I will do my best.

Today I will share with you part of my daily routine: absurdlycool.com. Every day, new links for freebies are posted. And most of them actually come! Not only is it exciting to get free stuff, but it’s exciting to get things in your mailbox that aren’t bills or junk or mail for people that lived in your house 8 years ago. Some neat things I’ve received from this site:
- mr. clean magic eraser sample
- toothpaste samples
- shampoo/conditioner samples
- quaker oats snack samples
- cat food samples
-NBC promo buttons
- diapers (for my niece…I promise…)
plus lots of other cool stuff.

Tip: Anything from WalMart and Sams Club ALWAYS comes.
Tip: After each link, there are comments left by other users you can read. This usually gives you a better idea of what the freebie is without having to check it out yourself. Also, if other users look into it and think it’s a scam and your inbox will be flooded with spam, they’ll give you a heads up in this section.

So, there you go. Now go get yourself some freebies!
